Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses RT Track under your account.
1. Purpose
RT Track exists so a U.S. business can see its fleet equipment — where a trailer or truck is, whether it has power, and whether it has gone dark. Use that respects other customers, the law, and that purpose is acceptable. Use that does not is not.
2. You must not
- Track people or unauthorized assets. Do not use the service to locate a person, a privately owned vehicle, a competitor’s equipment, or anything you do not own or have written authority to monitor. This is not a consumer “find my phone” product and not an employee ankle-bracelet.
- Violate privacy or recording laws that apply to you. If your company policy or a union agreement requires notice that a vehicle is tracked, that notice is yours to give.
- Cross tenant walls. Do not attempt to access another customer’s data, probe for IDs, or bypass login, roles, or tenant isolation.
- Attack or overload the platform. No vulnerability scanning, password stuffing, credential stuffing, malware, or traffic meant to degrade ingest or the portal (load tests only with our written OK).
- Abuse connectivity. Do not pull SIMs for use in phones, hotspots, or other devices; do not change APN/server settings to point Equipment at another platform while it is ours; do not generate SMS command storms.
- Resell or white-label the service or our Equipment without a written reseller agreement.
- Misrepresent the product to your customers (for example claiming temperature, door, or camera data this hardware does not produce, or claiming ELD / HOS compliance).
- Request or wire remote cutoff / immobilization through us. We will not enable it.
- Store illegal content in notes, names, or uploads, or use alerts to harass or threaten.
- Share logins in a way that defeats your own role model (for example a shared “admin” password posted in the shop) after we have asked you to stop.
3. Devices and install
You are responsible for lawful installation and for not creating a safety hazard (air bags, lighting circuits, unfused feeds). Equipment remains ours under the Hardware & SIM Terms unless you bought it in writing.
4. Alerts
You choose recipients. Do not add a phone number or email you are not authorized to use. We require verification of email alert recipients. Safety-style alerts (power loss, offline, low battery) are designed to reach you when enabled; do not treat the absence of an alert as proof that an asset is safe.
5. Enforcement
We may warn, suspend a user or tenant, disable a device or SIM, or terminate the account if we reasonably believe this AUP, the Terms, or the law is being broken, or if your use threatens the platform or another customer. We try to notify the tenant admin first unless we must act immediately. Suspension for AUP breach is not a 30-day refund event. We may report unlawful activity to law enforcement.
